Welcome to this thread which deals with the damage types the Elementalist can deal and how to increase your potential when dealing raw damage, conditions or critical hits. Of course you can't have everything, e.g. focusing on critical hits by using a lot of Air Magic, traits that augment critical hits and upgrades to equipment that add a "+x% bonus to critical damage", will diminish your ability to build up e.g. strong condition damage.
After going through the following tables and texts, I hope you will have understood the basics and can build your own combinations to enjoy your Guild Wars 2 game play.

There are two degenerating conditions available to the Elementalist: Bleeding and Burning:

      1. Bleeding

Can I get a 100% chance to do critical hits?
In theory, probably yes - if you just add Precision & "+x% critical" components on you and spec 30 points in Air Magic. This set up would ...

Ok me and probably many others will play for 30+ hours over weekend and this is ok but please listen few advices. I will not go in great detail because I could talk about this for 30+ pages.

      1. Do NOT drink any energy drinks. You need to save as much energy for playing and even if you feel more energetic after getting sugar and caffeine kick it is actually only short term and you will actually start loosing energy faster and got tired faster making you go to bed earlier giving you opposite result of what you need to do.
      2. play with shouters shut and light ON all the time. As is getting dark outside your body automatically going to "prepare to sleep mode" and you will get tired and sleepy even if you not. By having same light level all the time you trick your body out of this.
      3. make some routine to do some physical work every now or then. This can be stretching every loading time or taking a walk in kitchen to take sip of cold water every time your food buff/guild

Stealth is one of the thief's most powerful tools in Guild Wars 2, allowing them to strike from the shadows or to run away if the fight isn't going in their favor. Stealth allows the thief to be invisible to enemy players in PvP and enemy creatures in PvE. While in stealth, the thief cannot be targeted but can be hit by AoE attacks. The thief will appear as an outline to allies while in stealth.Stealth is the thief's friend in Guild Wars 2, allowing them to approach enemies undetected, mount special attacks, and to maneuver around their foes. Stealth is broken when the character attacks. Once the thief is out of stealth, he is unable to re-enter stealth for a few seconds.

A good thief knows when to fight and when to run.

      Stealth Weapon Skills

Stealth skills are weapon skills that replace a normal attack for a weapon with a new skill while the thief is in stealth. The stealth skill is determined by the weapons equipped and replace the first

Combos, also called cross-profession combos or skill combinations, happen when skills interact with each other to create an additional effect. A skill must be a combo field or a combo finisher to be combined, which is an effect which is included in the skill description.

For a combo to occur a combo field skill is used creating an area effect and then one or more combo finishers can interact with the field to create a combo. The largest number of combos are available through two
characters of different professions working together but combos can also be created with two of the same profession or a single character.

The combo field, or initiator, is a skill that creates an area effect of a particular type. The type is a recognizable element or characteristic which determines the effect they cause on a finisher; for example, a Flamewall will allow some eligible finishers to inflict burning.
Fields are either a circular field or a linear "wall".

Il Control in PVE: le meccaniche di defiant & indignant

      http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/...dignant-guide/

queste sono le meccaniche anticontrol dei champion i boss del gioco.

      Introduction:
Was not sure where to place this, and I have not seen any other guides for the Defiant and Indignant mechanic so I thought I'd do my best and write up a little guide.

In pve, while mobs can have the boon stability often they will have Defiant, it is important to understand how this works, as it is vital in learning to use your CC well, and not to waste your more expensive CC based effects such as Knockdown or Stun. Keep in mind Control effects are different then conditions such as immobilize or cripple, and as such they do not effect Defiant or Indignant.

      Control effects:
Daze, Knockdown, Launch, Pull, Push, Sink, Stun and Float. These are the only effects that will work towards removing or effecting Defiant and Indignant,

      What is Crafting?

Crafting is basically the act of turning one or more materials into other stuff through the use of crafting workstations in Guild Wars 2. You will be able to find lots of different definitions about this anywhere, so I shall not waste time here.

      Why Craft?

      - Unique skins. As Arenanet has stated, there will be various designs for max level 80 armor sets, and they will differ according to how you obtain them. Dungeon armor would have their unique look, and so would armor sets obtained by the exchange of Karma and Glory, or by Crafting. Therefore, some skins can only be obtained through high level crafting. At low levels, I'm not too sure whether there's any difference between loot armor and crafting armor visuals, and even if there is, the effect might be negligible. Anyway, we change armor too frequently at low levels to actually consider this, but for reference here's an example.

The set on the left was

Hello fellow Rangers and welcome players who are new to the Ranger!
Hopefully you will have come here from my Ranger Guide but if not then please don’t hesitate to go check that out, it is full of information you may want to know if you want to delve into the PvP side of things for the Ranger.

This Pet Guide is more of a general guide to your little friend(s) but will also touch on my ideas and thoughts on the PvP side of things so I hope you enjoy!

Please note that some information has been taken directly from a source of knowledge such as the Guild Wars 2 Wiki.

Pets are permanent AI-controlled NPC allies which are the ranger's special profession mechanic. A pet has a family, such as bear, which determines most of their skills and its general attributes. Its species, such as a polar bear or a brown bear, determines a unique skill. Its type; aquatic, terrestrial or amphibious, determines which environments ...

      Introduction
This FAQ explains what you need to know about gear and how its attributes are distributed. I'll predominantly aim this at level 80 equipment as we can talk about all equipment rarities. The reason for this FAQ is:

      • To explain how attributes are distributed at level 80
      • To answer some common misconceptions
      • Illustrate the methods and difficulty of obtaining equipment

If not stated, the tables in this FAQ are from the GW2 wiki or self made.

**Warning** - Long read, there is a summary section at the end.

Disclaimer: This faq is based on fact or logic based on evidence. Nothing is assumed because we all know what 'assume' does to you and me. As such, there may be other ways of obtaining gear or additional information not known to us at this time. However, I do not wish to speculate as this only causes confusion. If any pertinent information is sent to me that will improve this faq then I will update it.
